First Kiss Friday: Acacia III: Cravings

He was immovable, a statue carved of stone. Or at least he was until his head tilted, his lips parted in invitation, a warning of the impending contact.

Contact that she suddenly wanted more than anything. She needed to taste him, to feel his lips over hers.

“Ross.” Jemson’s voice held a note of warning.

A growl vibrated up through Ross’s chest. But his mouth hovered, almost connecting, almost claiming her lips. “Just a taste.” The air was a soft caress, while the words were gilded in iron.

“It’s dangerous.”

Jem’s words barely filtered into her mind. Dangerous? What could be dangerous about a kiss?

“It is as it must be.” Ross’s lips covered hers. The warm connection became her whole world. The pressure was a demand but his subtly sweet flavor was decadence. His tongue danced along the line of her lips, a delightful request she couldn’t deny.

She opened to him and tasted his fire. So hot and burning… she devoured him in that moment, knowing his heart, knowing he was killing her, poisoning her with every sweet lick.

“Ross.”

Slowly the kiss came to an end. Ross was holding her tight against his chest, supporting her whole weight, which was good because her legs hung useless and weak and her bones ached all over. “Help me…” But why would they? They’d been the ones to kill her. “Why?” She blinked, trying to clear her blurring vision.

“Listen to me, Caitlin, you have to drink from me now. Without my blood you will die.”

“No…” Something about poison. If his kiss could burn through her, what would his blood do? The blood, it would kill.

“Not our blood. My blood will save you.” He buried her face against the warmth of his neck. The corded muscles felt so healthy and strong. The steady throb of his blood pumping sounded like salvation.

But was it all a lie?

“Please trust me. I’d not have pushed the issue if I’d known you were this stubborn.” Ross’s voice held a soft brogue that vibrated through her lips.

She was dying. She’d done it before. She knew the sensation as each body system shut down, one at a time. The helplessness was unbearable. Drinking from him might save her, but if not maybe she could take him with her. She jerked, plunging her fangs into Ross, taking all he had to give.

ABOUT THE BOOK
A thousand years in the future, man in all his forms has spread out across the universe. Some races have chosen to live apart and others have attempted to live together, building diversity colonies. One of those is the Planet Rahla and its moon Acacia.

But not long after the colony began, it erupted with violence and fell into a civil (or not so civil) war between humans, vampires and werewolves. The massive bloodshed was ended with the Acacia Treaty which divided the two surviving races. Humans held Rahla and vampires were exiled to the domed moon colony of Acacia.

The treaty is resented by both sides and war may return at any moment.
Acacia III: Cravings
The virgin queen has a new desire...or two.

Hate crimes against vampires pose a rising threat to the moon colony of Acacia. Subversive attempts to destroy the colony are almost certainly being directed by the human purists on Rahla. Acacian agents have been murdered, and now their blood supply has been tampered with.

Counter intelligence operations have led to the capture of two werewolf warriors, more dangerous than anything either side has ever seen before. With their worlds on the brink of war, Queen Caitlin will do anything to protect her people, even if it means bartering her body to a pair of killers. But will her submission be enough to buy their loyalty?

First Kiss Friday: Acacia II: Blindsided

Shame flooded through him. “I don’t expect you to feel the same. I just… I had to show you at least this once. I won’t make any demands. We can go back to how it was.” Even if it killed him.

“Dash, stop.”

He met those silver-gray depths again fearing the coming rejection. Would he send him away? Trade him to another vampire?

“I wanted it too. Dash, I wanted you.”

Holy hell. “Really?”

“Yeah. Now get up here so I can kiss you.”

Dash crawled up Blake’s body so fast he felt awkward, but the moment called for immediacy. His master might come to his senses any second. Once they were face to face, he hesitated. Now that was awkward. He’d never initiated a kiss. Thirty freaking years of living and he was a babe in the woods when it came to this kind of affection.

His master must have understood. Of course he did. He would have surely noticed that Dash had never dated or even gotten close to any other. Tilting his head just slightly, his master leaned up into the kiss, bringing their lips together. Their mouths became one, parted only by the master’s partially retracted fangs.

Lips and breath played over each other, until the master’s tongue teased along his lips, parting him and plunging inward. Dash gasped at the sweet invasion. Sensation shot through his body. His cock hardened again, brought back to life with a kiss. A kiss which deepened, hardened until the master’s tongue plunged deep in an imitation of fucking.

First Kiss Friday: Acacia I: Abducting Aeron

His cool strength enveloped her while one hand slowly stroked up and down her back, soothing her like a child.

But she wasn’t a child. The casual touch sent waves of pleasure vibrating through her body, tightening her desire, making it obvious that her body wanted more than just to be held. She’d wanted more right from the first moment she’d met him. More… of everything he had to offer and yet, for a week they had only danced around the attraction.

She was done dancing.

Helia turned just enough to bring her face up before his. His hooded grey eyes burned with something fierce, something she should have been afraid of, but it wasn’t fear that welled up in a tight knot, sizzling awareness over her skin. She brought her lips to his, while his descended to claim hers.

They came together with a crash of passion. Nothing light or gentle would be found between them, at least not this time.

His fingers burrowed into her bound hair, freeing it, flinging the small band and netting aside. His mouth continued to ravage hers. His grip on her hair tightened, turning her into the kiss.

She wasn’t one to be led, but he was racing toward exactly where she wanted to go. With her body held so tightly, she was crushed against him. Still she tore at the front of his clothing, opening it enough to slide her palms over his chest.

His skin was cooler than hers but the flesh was too tempting to turn away from. His chest was broad and his body corded with lean muscle. She let her hands explore lower.

Aeron gasped against her mouth, tearing free to trail fiery kisses down her neck. “I want you, Helia. I need you.” Fang tips scraped deliciously over her skin.

First Kiss Friday: The Jade Prince

Then Jin wasn't Jin any more. Maybe if Cal hadn't been so desperate, so close, and holding his friend's gaze in the only means of help he could offer, maybe if he had even blinked at the wrong time he wouldn't have seen. But he'd seen the moment in crystal clear detail, the exact second when his best friend's clear brown eyes had changed. The round human look disappeared, shifting to the green slitted eyes of an animal, a reptile. The look in those eyes was not even one bit Jin. The being looking back at him was wild and in pain. Haunted and well past deranged.

The question "Who are you?" hovered on Cal's lips, but before he could ask it out loud, the green-eyed demon spoke in a cracked whisper.

"Jade is free? Finally... free?" Despite the hesitations, the voice was smooth like Jin, but deeper.

It said Jade like a name. "Jade?"

The thing's gaze focused on Cal's face. It drew its breath in through Jin's nose as if scenting the air. Then its lips spread into a grin that promised no good will at all. "You smell tasty. Even the other thinks so."

"Who are you? What happened to Jin?"

"Jin? Oh, the other." His grin turned sneaky. "I ate him and I'll eat you, too." Jin's body jerked fiercely, rolling them from the sofa and onto the floor with a bone rattling crash. The thing controlling Jin's body pinned Cal to the floor. Its face, Jin's face, leered close. It licked along Cal's jaw, sending ripples of confused reactions skittering across Cal's skin.

He twisted and bucked but couldn't dislodge Jin's smaller body. Damn it, his job was to protect Jin, but how the hell could he protect him from whatever this thing was or intended to do?

Those green snake eyes sparkled with some devious plot. With a sudden motion, it slammed their lips together. The pressure bloomed into an explosion of heat.

Cal twisted his mouth free. "Don't." He gasped through a surprising swell of excitement. "Get a hold of yourself, Jin!"

It laughed, and the rasping sound sawed through Cal's soul. This thing wasn't Jin. That single truth ripped him apart inside. Jin, his best friend... More than that. He had always wanted to kiss Jin, to show him far more than friendship. But that had never been. Jin was straight and he wasn't. Things like that didn't change. He'd accepted it would be a one-sided love story pretty much from the beginning.

But this thing, it somehow knew his weakness, knew his secret and offered him the one temptation he had accepted would never be realized.

This First Kiss Friday is from The Jade Prince. Now available with Amber Allure/Amber Quill Press

ABOUT THE BOOK
Cal has loved his best friend forever but since Jin is straight, the relationship has no hope of ever being fulfilled. Or at least that was what he thought until the day he accidentally binds Jin to the spirit of an insane dragon. Now Cal will do anything, even offer his flesh and grab hold of a twisted form of his most desperate desire in order to keep the jade dragon from using Jin's body to rampage through the city.

First Kiss Friday: Blood Justice

“Wait! You can’t do this to me. You can’t just decide to not let me fulfill our bargain. Don’t you understand what failure means? Do you even give a shit if I’m killed for your whims?”

Of course he cared. He cared too damn much. Lyna had become his reason to live. She’d kept his passion for life alive long past any he could find on his own.

“Answer me, Sadaen!”

“Or what? You’ll kill me? Seems to me you keep trying.”

“Damn right I will, and the next time I try, you will be ended. What do you think about that?”

“Most days I’d call that a blessing,” he whispered up at the statue of Raylina portrayed with the widespread perfect wings, which she’d given up to be with him. Not that she’d lost her wings. No, but they’d darkened to black, never again to glow that pristine white.

“What did you say? Can’t you even look at me while casting my life aside?”

He looked.

Her angry flushed face looked slightly up at him. Her eyes glittered, and her fists clenched. With power whipping around her blowing hair and feathers wildly, she was gorgeous. “You’ll be punished too. If my suffering means nothing, then think about your own.”

Why couldn’t he take her? It was wrong, yeah, but refusing was wrong too. Wasn’t it? And if there were no right choice, then why couldn’t he offer them both pleasure? With the damage already done, why not at least show her what real passion could be? Should be?

He grabbed her hard in his arms and crushed her mouth under his own, devouring her in a long demanding kiss, so deep it stole as much as it gave.

She didn’t kiss him back. She didn’t struggle.

He took and took from her, letting the kiss be as wild and ferocious as he wanted, as he needed. It was wrong, and it felt so damn right.

Shoving her away, he sucked air into lungs that had forgotten how to breathe. Every cell in his body screamed to kiss her again, take everything she offered, take more than she offered, take everything she was.

Destroy her, like he had her sister.

White feathers danced on the wind, swirling around them. Her feathers, torn free by his violence.

This First Kiss Friday is from Blood Royals 3: Blood Justice. Available June 4, 2012 with Liquid Silver Books.

ABOUT THE BOOK
After Sadaen tires of vengeance, he longs only for justice and redemption. He finds both in the arms of an angel determined to execute him. Lyna is convinced he deserves to die and she’ll do anything to bring him to justice, even if it means betraying everything she holds dear.

Despite their long history of combat he’s sure that only Lyna can offer him a future worthy of his past. He’ll either burn as the rogue demon he’s become or redeem himself through the flames of her passion. His only hope is to bind them together with a deal that could destroy them both.

First Kiss Friday: Blood Reign

A rather hot first kiss...
His sharpened nails bit into her thighs as he lowered his mouth to her breast. The painful claws countered his soft breath to perfection. The hot air was her only warning before his lips connected with her flesh.

Each gentle suck channeled her sexual need, enhancing the pounding blood that danced to his every motion. Heat pooled in her core, tightening the need, throbbing with the desire.

Or a more traditional kiss...
A nip to his chin drew his attention above her waist. He looked down into her eyes, his gaze burning with a fiery glow. A slow sexy smile covered his lips. “Will you satisfy me? Will you let us become one?” he asked. Then Pahele kissed her, his tongue swiping over her lips and plunging into her with the perfect dominance that was so much a part of him.

BLURB
Sadrina would give anything to protect her son. She chooses to sacrifice her freedom and bargain her body to the lord of hell, returning to the arms of the one demon she’s always loved and the place she fears the most.

Pahele has no intention of sacrificing his lover. Instead of a slave, he expects her to become his queen. But to prove her right to rule at his side she must complete tests including passing judgment over the most notorious of her kind—her father, Sadaen.

First Kiss Friday: Wreck of the Nebula Dream by Veronica Scott

He admired her courage and her calm and her sense of humor, even in the desperate situation.

And she’s so beautiful, even now, even after all she’s gone through tonight.

Reaching out, he shackled her wrist with his hand, drawing her closer. The clean, crisp scent of her no doubt expensive perfume drifted into his nostrils, and he took a deep breath. Who do I think I am, contemplating a future with this high-powered, stunning woman? His courage had never failed him in combat, but he was reluctant to risk rejection from her. "You may change your mind, once we get to Sector Hub, and the adrenalin of this crisis wears off." Releasing her wrist, Nick stepped away, swallowing hard. "Maybe we should forget it for now, see how the idea of dinner strikes you after we're rescued and we return to our proper orbits in society."

Apparently Mara wasn't having any of his self doubt. She placed one hand on the carton he was about to toss aside, stopping him. Gently, she caressed his check with her other hand. "Nicholas Jameson, don't be an idiot," she commanded with a small smile. “I know what I’m doing. I wanted to have dinner with you long before this misbegotten ship took its detour and plowed into an asteroid field, or whatever the disaster was.”

She fixed him with that electric stare from her turquoise eyes. Lost in her gaze, he couldn’t have been distracted if the Mawreg had come crashing into the hold in the next minute. Mara bit her lip before smiling crookedly. “I tried to have the AI call you, you know, during the day, I– I missed you. It said you weren’t listed on the Passenger Directory. I tried three different times; does that tell you anything?” She poked him in the chest with her finger to emphasize her point.

Taking her in his arms, slowly, so she could protest if this wasn’t what she wanted, he lowered his head and brushed her inviting lips with a fleeting kiss, which was all he dared to allow himself in this time and place. Mara pressed her soft body to his, looping her arm around his neck to hold him close, and he kissed her again, lingering, savoring for a long minute. Still holding her close, he rested his head against hers. "All right, it's on for dinner, then."

This First Kiss is from Wreck of the Nebula Dream, available from Amazon for the kindle and Barnes & Noble for the Nook at a special 99 cent price.

The blurb:

Traveling unexpectedly aboard the luxury liner Nebula Dream on its maiden voyage across the galaxy, Sectors Special Forces Captain Nick Jameson is ready for ten relaxing days, and hoping to forget his last disastrous mission behind enemy lines. He figures he’ll gamble at the casino, take in the shows, maybe even have a shipboard fling with Mara Lyrae, the beautiful but reserved businesswoman he meets.

All his plans vaporize when the ship suffers a wreck of Titanic proportions. Captain and crew abandon ship, leaving the 8000 passengers stranded without enough lifeboats and drifting unarmed in enemy territory. Aided by Mara, Nick must find a way off the doomed ship for himself and several other innocent people before deadly enemy forces reach them or the ship’s malfunctioning engines finish ticking down to self destruction.

But can Nick conquer the demons from his past that tell him he’ll fail these innocent people just as he failed to save his Special Forces team? Will he outpace his own doubts to win this vital race against time?

First Kiss Friday: Nothing but Ash

“If you mean having a fling with my best friend while I was out of town … I forgive you and I know exactly what you should say.” She leaned forward until their lips were a breath apart.

“What should I say?”

She brought them together, kissing him slowly at first, but then deepening the kiss until their mouths became a tangle of heat and need. Closer and closer. On and on. She drank him down, owning him soul deep, letting the last fifteen years fall away until they were teenagers again exploring each other for the first time. Remembering what felt right and how the need to connect consumed them both.

He dragged her onto his lap, holding her close to him in an uncompromising grip.

Slowly she pulled back, by increments. Joy flooded through her. He still loved her.

First Kiss Friday: Walking Death's Edge

“Flayvor…” The despair in Bryck’s voice tore Maya apart.

She caught his hand, clinging to him and offering what strength she could. When Bryck sagged to the floor, kneeling before his lost comrade, Maya let him go and began working on the chains holding the younger demon in place. Bryck would want to take him for whatever burial traditions they held to. She’d heard once that lost demons were laid to rest in the Hall of Souls.

“Wait, Bryck. There is something wrong here.” Bryck looked up at her with eyes black as night. “Where is Flayvor’s soul? I felt it before and now… I can sense it, but not within his body.”

“He was without a guide. His soul may not find its way.” This final cruelty pushed the demon commander to tears. A single black trail slid from his right eye.

She wiped away the track from his cheek. “If his body is healed, will his soul return?”

“Perhaps, if it has not completed the journey back to the Creator, it might.” Hope sparked in his eyes then dimmed at once. “But I know of nothing that can heal him or call back his soul.”

She brushed her lips over his. “Perhaps I do.”

This Friday's first kiss is from Anom'tam 4: Walking Death's Edge. Now available at Cobblestone press.

BLURB:
Complete opposites with a world of death between them, Bryck and Maya have more in common than either suspect, but revealing the deepest of secrets will have to wait until they’ve rescued his missing demon, Flayvor.

Every step toward the rescue has brought new love to the members of the Anom’tan unit and now the pattern begins to make sense.

Everyone will have a part to play. The new lovers will be put to the test. A greater force controls the game and only the ultimate sacrifices will offer Bryck and Maya the future they so desperately need.

First Kiss Friday: Walking at Sundown

FIRST - between Mayce and Spyce

Mayce waited until the vampire began across the room, before grabbing Spyce and dragging her into a hard kiss. They came together with a crash and sparred for dominance that neither would truly gain. The battle was one Mayce lived for. Passion flared and he was rock hard and aching for her in seconds.

Never one to deny himself pleasure, he shoved her back until she hit the low wall around the pool area. “Lose the clothes.”

“Make me.”

He growled and let his magic burst outward, dissolving both his and her clothing. He hooked his arm under one thigh, opening her, but instead of a fast fuck like he’d originally imagined, he exposed his mind to her and they became one in thought and action. She reached between them, stroking his throbbing erection, rubbing the head over her wet entrance. Slowly, ever so slowly, he pushed in, reveling in her passionate response when she arched backward, trusting him to support her upper body.

Then she was all liquid movement, writhing against him, working herself over his thick length.

AND THEN... between Spyce and Dante

Mayce stepped into view beside his mate. His face was a mask of concern. “You can use your safe word. It can all stop with one word.”

Tears slipped down his face. How could they understand so perfectly? But they did, and he did not want to stop. “Please… I don’t want to stop.” The words felt torn from him, and in the rending he felt freed.

Mayce stepped back behind him but did not continue with the whipping. The demon’s hands moved over the ribbons of his back. Dante felt the examination of each wound and the care behind the touch. The barbed whip always exacted its pound of flesh, but his vampire nature made up for the damage and could heal him completely within hours.

Spyce kissed away his tears until Dante had full control once more. Her hands feathered over his face and combed through his tangled hair.

“What kind of mistress are you?” He asked with wonder.

“Do not doubt my control. Mayce and I own you, but we have no need to be cruel. All we do will be what you consent to and what we know you need.”

Confusion over her kindness brought out a boldness he had no control of. “But you have each other. Why would you want me?”

This Friday's first kiss is from Anom'tam 3: Walking at Sundown. Now available at Cobblestone press.

BLURB:
Synn demons, Spyce and Mayce are completely devoted to each other, but with both being dominate and the risk of accidentally killing other lovers, their love life could use a little something extra. When they catch the vampire expected to help find their lost comrade, they find just that missing spark. Dante has been lost in a world of equals.

A master vampire turned and enslaved Dante, teaching him the pleasure found as a submissive. In Mayce and Spyce, Dante sees an opportunity and seizes it with both fangs, demanding they give him one day of pleasure in exchange for his help.

First Kiss Friday: Walking in Memories

She (Clarice) looked so very innocent. “I don’t want her hurt.” Silently he (Chayse) added, even if it meant losing the two Synn demons. There was something about this pale beauty that captured him and forced him to admit at least to himself, that he wasn’t willing to sacrifice her regardless of the results.

“You have the skill to read her. I can too but with less finesse than you. Do all you can to get what we need. Hopefully that will be enough.”

Chayse couldn’t believe his ears. Rayce was giving him permission to lead, to take control and do what was needed. To his brother, control was precious and rarely given up.

“Go. I’ll watch over you both.”

He paused one second longer then went to the girl. “Clarice?”

“Hello.” She released the washcloth and wiped her hands on her short apron. “You’re very handsome.” And before he could think or react, she plastered her body against his, and took his lips in a wild, passionate kiss, that shattered his world.

This Friday's kiss is from Anom'tam 2: Walking in Memories. Now available at Cobblestone press.

BLURB:
The Anom’tan demons continue tracking their missing brother. The latest clue leads to a witness, whose mind was damaged, ravaged. The violation leaves Clarice unable to remember the attack, control her own fate or even say no.

First Kiss Friday: Walking with Synn

This week's First Kiss Friday is from Anom'tan 1: Walking with Synn, now available at Cobblestone Press.

Sasha forgot to breathe.

Damn the man. His voice tickled through her, arousing places he had yet to touch. With voice alone, Sayvor made her hot and wet. His hands wandering lightly over her body seemed almost excessive. And this was when he was ill with grief. When he was at full strength, would he make her come with just his voice? She wouldn’t doubt it.

“So…do you object?” His hands stilled as if he were giving her a chance to choose.

How could she object to amazing sex that would just happen to maybe save his life? She didn’t bother to answer him with words. Instead, she leaned forward and claimed his mouth in a deep, searing kiss. After the first plunge of her tongue, Sayvor returned her kiss just as fiercely.

On and on they sparred. Without breaking the kiss, he dragged her body against his hard chest. She wrapped her legs around his waist and settled into his lap, framed by his powerful thighs.
He devoured her, taking turns plunging his tongue into her mouth in a tantalizing imitation of sex and sucking her tongue into his. The satin robe tore under his demanding fingers. He ripped it down the back and peeled it off her body.

The fabric caught on her hands and he twisted it, holding her captive. She moaned at the restraint. Like when he’d controlled her mouth as she’d blown him, binding her hands just did it for her. She ground her hips against his thick hard-on and used her body to beg for more.

He freed her lips and in a single motion, flipped her body over so she lay on her back with him above her.

First Kiss Friday: Hotter than Hell

This week's First Kiss Friday is from Hotter than Hell.

Cupping his firm jaw and staring into the endless depths of his emerald eyes, she contemplated her options. She could either bemoan her loss of consciousness, or she could embrace this wonderful dream. The decision was easy. All her life she’d played it safe and missed out on adventure. This one time she could have the best of both. This adventure was about as safe as could be considering she’d eventually wake up and go back to her life. Maybe she’d even remember the dream and be able to hold onto the memory when life in Demon got too boring.

Not to mention that nagging sense of something was yelling to jump in and live a little.

Yep, decision made—she’d enjoy the moment. Lani slid her fingers up around his neck, pulling him down and planting a kiss on him. She licked over his lips until they softened and parted. She’d be bold and take a kiss like none she ever had before… or she would have if she knew how. Fortunately, the second she hesitated, her mystery hero licked right into the pause, teasing her tongue into a proper tangle, devouring her down while still leaving her some control. In other words, he was a darn good kisser. When they finally drew back, she was left panting with desire deeper than she’d felt in years. Maybe more than she’d felt ever.

And he had yet to answer a single question. In the aftermath of the kiss, she didn’t care much about his answers, was having some trouble even remembering her questions. “I never knew I had such a good imagination...” She kissed him again, licking over the crease of his lips and diving back in when those lips parted for her.

With her arms around his neck and her mouth locked firmly to his, she easily lost track of how far he carried her. Not that it really mattered here in dreamland. Finally they came to a halt, and she came up for air. He’d stopped in front of a plain door, which opened without him touching it.

First Kiss Friday: Zeven Ways to Kill Your Lover

This week's First Kiss Friday is from Zeven Ways to Kill Your Lover.

Sunshine outlined a huge man, combining dark shadow and blinding light. Her heart thundered once before she was heaved off her feet, pinned to the wall and confronted by black wraparound sunglasses that reflected her own terrified face.

She clawed at the thick arms and kicked against the huge body. But the man’s weight crushed her to the wall.

The pressure changed, loosened. The man’s honey brown skin came back into focus.

“Oh, fuck.” The voice was familiar, from a past she’d left behind. He slammed the door and threw the wraparounds across the room with a vicious snarl of fury.

She met the man’s cold, pale gaze. Dear God, how did he find me? “Zeven?”

Her former lover fell on her once more, claiming her mouth, demanding the response that was too damn easy to give. She kissed him back, matching his passion, pouring her stress and emotion into the wild contact that she’d craved for so long.

Then Zeven ripped away from her lips. “What the fuck did you see?”

That brought Harley back to the moment, back to the stupidity which giving in to animal attraction would be. “Shit. I need to get out of here.” She struggled, jerking in his grasp. Zeven showing up took her terrifying day straight into FUBAR range. Now it wasn’t just the ones behind the threatening note. She had to escape Zeven and his homicidal family, too.

First Kiss Friday: Amethyst Bound

I'm trying something new here on the blog. Every Friday that I can, will be dedicated to first kiss excerpts. I'll be posting them here with book info and links when possible. Hope you enjoy!

Kicking off the first First Kiss Friday is from Amethyst Bound.

“So you were laughing at Amethyst?” He sounded doubtful.

“Yeah. She said I can bite you if I like.” I raised his hand to my mouth and bit down on his thumb, letting my tongue slide over the pad and circle around twice before freeing it.

He let out a sexy little moan, which I leaned forward to capture on his lips.

Kissing Davis was an experience in luxury. At first he did little more than react, but then he got into the action, and when he did…whoa, he did it right. His mouth moved slow and easy over mine. The contact might have felt casual if not for the way his tongue tickled me open and then plunged in to explore.

By increments he drew back, holding my advance at bay with firm hands on my upper arms. I didn’t want to stop touching. I didn’t want to stop kissing. I wanted him naked and writhing under me. I wanted him thrusting and hard, deep inside me. And I sure as hell didn’t want to hear whatever he was saying.

“…this a good idea?”

“A good idea?” I doubted it, but my brain had shut off a while back. Bringing it back online took a little work.

“I just want to be sure it’s you with me and not Amethyst.” His gray eyes were so serious. “Some mythologies claim dragons are instinctively sexual creatures. I want you, but I need to know that you want this as much as I do.”

I struggled to get a grip on my libido. Maybe he was right. This wasn’t very in character for me. Not the sex part. I was okay with that. But the out of control and giving in to my baser side was not me. Here we were about to have sex while the bad guys were probably hunting us down, and I couldn’t even work up a worry for anything more than how to get Davis out of his pants.
