Six Sentence Sunday: Dead Men's Nails

This Sunday my six are from a WIP Dead Men's Nails.

Much as I wanted to be sure Jason was okay, I didn’t feel safe enough to turn my back on the strange gray guy. Hand back in my purse, I gripped the gun inside. Would it have any effect on whatever this guy was? Did it matter since the guy didn’t seem to be attacking me?

Before I could draw it out into sight and threaten any answers out of the stranger, a flash of movement to my right had me spinning that way.

The denim-clad body hit me with a growl. A blade flashed toward me.
