New Year's Resolutions

My 2008 resolutions are all about increasing my speed of life. What is that you ask? Well to me it is the pace by which I accomplish my goals. Anyone who knows me, knows I am always doing something. 2008 will not be about doing faster, only about doing smarter.

With that in mind I do have a goal list for the year. Actually I have two (professional and person) but the personal one isn't for general consumption, lol. So I'll share some of my writing goals here.

1. Rather than wander around in my various stories, I will narrow my focus to priority projects. By controlling my ADD better I intend to complete 3 novels and 10 novellas in 2008.

2. Although I love my current publishers, in 2008 I plan to branch out to include 2 or more new publishing houses. I have three small press that I currently have work targeted for and I will get back to submitting my mainstream novels to NY publishers.

3. In the area of promotion... I have several ideas for 2008 including a massive rehaul of my website.

4. Finances go up and down with book sales and although I have been doing ok, I hope to supplement my royalty money with a little steady cash money. This goal has pretty much already been met as I will be helping Cobblestone Press with book distributions beginning tomorrow. :)

I do have a few other little things on my to-do list, but these 4 are my big ones. And I post them here in the cyberspace world as a reminder to help me stay on track.

May your new year be as wonderful and productive as I hope mine to be.

Global Orgasm?

This gave me a big laugh so I thought I'd share. :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Any way you scream it, one group hopes you'll be having an orgasm in the name of world peace this Friday at 6:08 GMT.
At the exact moment of the winter solstice, the world is urged to get busy at the second annual Global Orgasm for World Peace.
Click here to visit the Web site.
People across the world — but especially in countries with "weapons of mass destruction and places where violence is used in place of medication" — are being asked to synchronize their orgasms, according to the group's Web site.
This group session of sexual healing, aka The Big O, is designed to be an "instantaneous surge of human biological, mental and spiritual energy" that organizers hope will reduce levels of violence, hatred and fear around the world during this, the longest night of the year.
Global Orgasm is the brain child of Donna Sheehan and Paul Reffell, co-founders of the anti-war organization Baring Witness, a group of activists who strip to make public peace displays with their naked bodies.
I'M A BRAVA FINALIST!
OMG! I got the news early this morning! I'm a FINALIST in the Brava Novella Contest! I'm so excited.... bouncing in the seat, then out of the seat, then all over the room. The novella, Zeven Ways to Kill Your Lover is about two lovers brought back together under less than pretty conditions.
They’d hired an assassin to hunt her down and silence her forever. The only problem is their hired killer likes her better. Now Zeven and Harley are going to take on the employer and find freedom together...if their dark past will let them live long enough to work out the details.
Like so many others, I've been not so patiently waiting for the weekly announcements to come out. I had all the appropriate writer angst... Was mine good enough? Was it what they would look for? Would I get it finished in time? Would it matter? Then as each other finalist was announced, I compared mine and worried some more. All the while still working on this and other stories.
I did NANO while waiting and won. :) I completed the forth Anom'tan book, Walking Death's Edge as well as my Vampire Oracle novella titled LOVE. I'm very happy with how both of these books turned out. I also worked on the third Eagle Clan novel, Journey. AND I completed my contest entry, Zeven Ways to Kill Your Lover.
Yep I kept busy. :)
Now in between excited dancing... I need to get back to editing all three books. :)
